Margaret Tempest is a published author and an illustrator of children's books. Margaret illustrated at least 31 Little Grey Rabbit books which had the writing by Allison Uttley. I believe that the Author & Illustrator did not see eye to eye on who created the CHARACTER, was it the image or the words? So they would not agree to merchandising etc. That is why Beatrix Potter is so famous and these incredible characters are less well known.
